Delete your account
Time to close this chapter? You can delete your PawTabs account in the app or request deletion by email without installing anything or signing in. Here’s what happens to your account and your pets’ records.
Here’s how to close your account
In the app, open More → Account & settings → Delete account. Prefer email? Write from the address on your account so we can verify the request. No form and no explanation needed.
Send it from the email address you signed up with, and put “Delete my PawTabs account” in the subject. We will confirm by reply once it is done, within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Everything below is removed permanently and cannot be recovered.
- Your account, email address and sign-in credentials.
- Your display name and profile.
- Every pet you created, with their full profile.
- Every log entry recorded for those pets — meals, walks, potty breaks, litter, yard time, medications, care and health events.
- Health records for those pets: medications, weight, and readings such as blood glucose.
- Documents and photos you uploaded, deleted from file storage as well as the database.
- Reminders you set.
- Walk routes recorded with GPS.
- Push notification tokens and notification preferences.
- Any pending invitations you sent.
What happens to pets you shared
Before you say goodbye, check how deletion affects the other people caring for your pets.
- Pets you created are deleted for everyone. Anyone you invited to those pets loses access to that record, because the record no longer exists. If someone else in your household wants to keep it, tell them before you delete.
- Pets someone else shared with you are not touched. They belong to that person’s account. You simply stop being a member of their household.
- Entries you made on someone else’s pet remain in their record, because that record is theirs. Your name is removed from those entries.
What we keep, and why
- Support emails you sent us, for up to two years, so we have a record of what was asked and answered.
- Anything we are legally required to retain. There is no billing yet, so there are no purchase records to keep.
Nothing kept is used to build a profile of you, and none of it is shared with anyone.
How long it takes
We aim to complete a deletion within a few days, and always within 30 days of the request. Backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle, so a copy may persist in an encrypted backup for a short period after that before it is gone entirely.
Just leaving a shared pet’s care crew? You don’t need to delete your account. Ask the pet’s owner to remove your access. Your account and your own pets stay in place.
